Profile and Expertise
While having overseen many civil, criminal, and administrative cases in legal aid organisations, Hiroki was engaged in issues of public interest such as child rights and statelessness, in cooperation with administrative agencies.
Subsequently, Hiroki moved to a law firm in Tokyo and was involved in a number of corporate disputes, including a lawsuit to claim for declaration of shareholder’s rights, lawsuit to claim for declaration to nullify the issuance of new shares, lawsuit to claim for dismissal of officers, lawsuit to claim for compensation for damages against officers, and petition for provisional disposition to suspend the execution of an officer’s duties.
Currently, Hiroki is specialised in the intellectual property field and handles general corporate legal affairs such as dispute settlement including litigation, M&A, and corporate law. In particular, he provides advice on filing of the trademark applications and the like; advice on intellectual property matters related to securitisation of patent rights, licensing, technology transfer, arts and entertainment, IT, contents, software, and system development; advice on intellectual property disputes related to patent rights, trademark rights, design rights, and copyrights in Japan and abroad, and litigation and arbitration under the Unfair Competition Prevention Law; and advice on the management of and protective measures for intellectual property including the management of employee inventions, trade secrets, and personal information.
Hiroki also focuses on medical issues, striving to address administrative issues and resolve medical care-related disputes.
