Tourism & Travel

Tourism & Travel Practice Group

In Japan, the tourism business has been very active, partly due to various government measures aimed at making Japan a tourism-oriented country and an increase in inbound demand as the COVID-19 outbreak has calmed down. In addition, there has been a series of amendments to government ordinances, guidelines, and notices related to the Private Lodging Business Act, Hotel Business Act, Travel Agency Act, IR, MaaS, etc., and legal advice for specific cases is increasing.

We set up the Tourism & Travel Practice Group to meet these demands for legal advice on tourism and travel and to provide more advanced and cutting-edge legal services.

We utilise our network of local offices and affiliated firms throughout Asia to provide a team of lawyers and specialists in the tourism and travel business, including private accommodation, travel, real estate, IR, and transportation, whether domestic or international legal service, as well as support in complying with various laws and regulations, schemes structuring support and dispute resolution, and lawyers with deep knowledge of real estate provide a wide range of legal services related to domestic and international tourism and travel, including advice on hotel and real estate business, with a focus on inbound tourism.

For the revival and further development of the tourism business in Japan, the Tourism & Travel Practice Group will contribute to the development of our client’s businesses and the growth of the tourism business by providing cutting-edge legal services based on our accumulated knowledge, relationships with various government agencies and industry organizations, and relationships with domestic and foreign businesses operating at the forefront of the tourism business, and utilizing our network as a law firm with local offices and affiliated offices in Asian countries
