Mr. Uy’s main practice areas are civil and criminal litigation, commercial arbitration, construction arbitration, contract law, labor and employment law, and corporation law.
Mr. Uy has successfully represented clients in a wide range of cases, involving commercial disputes, contract disputes, construction disputes, employment disputes, intra-corporate disputes, intellectual property disputes, asset recovery, and prosecution of white-collar crime. He also has extensive experience in advising domestic and multinational clients on a diverse range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, franchising, construction contracts, real estate transactions, and data privacy compliance.
He is an accredited arbitrator and the Deputy Secretary General for Operations of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution (PICCR). He is also an accredited and recognized (2nd level) ADR Practitioner in Arbitration by the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Department of Justice of the Philippines and is also a Fellow of the Philippine Arbitration Center in the Visayas (PACV). He is an Assistant Vice-President of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb), Member of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a trained tribunal secretary of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
He is cited as a Recommended Lawyer in Dispute Resolution in the 2023 Legal 500 Asia-Pacific edition, where he is described by clients as an “excellent counsel” who “gives legal advice that is grounded on realities and practical application” and “has the directness to truly guide a client to weigh their options”. He has been shortlisted for Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year (2022 and 2023) and Young Lawyer of the Year (2021) in the Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards.

- Represented and successfully defended the oldest bank in Southeast Asia in a multi-billion peso tax litigation.
- Represented and successfully defended the Philippine directors of a food and beverage company in an intra-corporate dispute.
- Acted as private prosecutor and successfully obtained a conviction in a white-collar criminal case involving an officer of one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in the Philippines.
- Acted as private prosecutor and successfully obtained a conviction in a fraud case involving the President of a Triple-A licensed construction firm.
- Represented a real estate developer in a construction arbitration involving a premier condominium building located in one of the Philippine’s financial districts.
