Profile and Expertise

Edward is one of only a handful of Singaporean lawyers who are effectively bilingual in both English and Japanese. Before attending law school at the Singapore Management University (SMU), he spent a stint studying Japanese politics at Waseda University in Tokyo, where he was selected as the cohort valedictorian.

After graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence (Magna Cum Laude) from the SMU in 2022, Edward was called to the Singapore Bar in 2023. He handles a wide variety of cases for Japanese clients in Singapore, focusing on cross-border disputes which include litigation and international arbitration. He has experience in complex cases before the Singapore High Court and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Along with other members of the One Asia Lawyers Group, Edward has also co-authored a book on data protection laws in the Asia Pacific region.
