After working for a law firm in Abu Dhabi, Nidal joined the banking sector in the UAE in 1999 as in-house lawyer and held senior positions in two prominent Abu Dhabi based banks as well as Abu Dhabi based investment company.

Nidal is specialised in Islamic banking and finance and has over two decades of solid experience in Sharia’ compliant products and transactions and witnessed the progress and development of Islamic banking in the UAE as in-house counsel. He worked closely with highly recognized Sharia’ scholars, Sharia’ boards and banking experts on the development of a wide range of products that were introduced to the Islamic banking market in the UAE for the first time. He advised on a diverse range of Sharia’ compliant products and transactions utilizing a blend of knowledge and practical experience. Nidal’s areas of expertise include Islamic finance, Trade finance, Asset finance, Islamic bi-lateral and syndicated transactions, Product documentation, Security documentation, Sukuk and Regulatory.
