Profile and Expertise

Hiroyasu Chiba was admitted to practice law in Japan in 2014. After working at a law firm, he spent more than seven years as in-house counsel at two major Japanese manufacturers. In addition to serving in their legal departments, he also worked in a corporate planning department, where he was involved in domestic and cross-border M&A, post-merger integration (PMI), contracts, compliance and other corporate legal matters from both legal and business perspectives.

He joined One Asia Lawyers (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in 2023. Since relocating to Thailand, he has primarily advised Japanese companies on M&A and joint venture matters, providing end-to-end legal support including legal due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, corporate procedures and closing. He also advises on various contracts, data protection, dispute-related matters and regulatory issues.

Drawing on his extensive experience as in-house counsel and in corporate planning, he focuses on providing practical legal services that take into account not only legal considerations but also related business, accounting, tax and other commercial considerations.
