Yuko Haraguchi

Profile and Expertise

After registering as a lawyer in 2008, she joined Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, where she was engaged in general corporate matters and cross-border M&A transactions. After that, she handled general corporate matters and international transactional matters such as assisting Japanese companies to expand their business overseas. She has also been involved in a wide range of development assistance work, including research on judicial, administrative, and health systems in South and Southeast Asia, research on judicial system and employment, being engaged in the gender and health projects in Africa, some of which were undertaken by JICA.

In addition to her domestic experience as a corporate auditor and as a director of a medical corporation, she has diverse international work experience, such as visiting and researching courts in more than 30 countries around the world, including Asia and Africa, which experience was published as a book in Japan.

She is currently studying at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) (https://www.soas.ac.uk/) in the United Kingdom. She is actively posting cutting-edge information on Asia, Africa, and Europe, while she studies on African Law and Development, and Law and Anthropology.
