[Event Report] Book Launch Seminar: “Pitfalls in Malaysian Business That Japanese Companies Should Watch Out For”
On Friday, 18 September 2026, a seminar was held at the Japanese Chamber of Trade & Industry, Malaysia (JACTIM) to celebrate the publication of the book “Malaysia: Market Entry, Expansion and Exit in Practice — Investment, Labour Law, Accounting and Tax” (Japanese title: 『マレーシア 進出・展開・撤退の実務』). The seminar was organised by CONNECTION (Bridge International Asia Sdn Bhd) and co-organised by One Asia Lawyers.
The seminar was moderated by Yusuke Tomofuji, Registered Foreign Lawyer (New York), and featured a lecture by the book’s author, Yuki Hashimoto, Partner at One Asia Lawyers and Head of the Malaysia Office
Nearly 50 people attended, mainly from companies doing business in Malaysia. The venue was close to full, and the audience listened with keen interest throughout.
In the post-seminar survey on overall satisfaction, approximately 80% of respondents answered “Extremely satisfied” and approximately 20% “Very satisfied”, reflecting highly positive feedback from participants. We sincerely thank everyone who responded.
Book Prize Draw
At the end of the seminar, a prize draw was held, and the winners each received a copy of the book.
About the Book
In Malaysia, the book is currently available at Books Kinokuniya, KLCC, and can also be purchased online. It is also available for loan at the library of the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and to JACTIM for providing the venue. One Asia Lawyers will continue to share practical information for businesses operating in Malaysia and across Asia
