Profile and Expertise
Yusuke has extensive and long-time experience in international projects, especially in Southeast Asia mostly in Indonesia, and Malaysia. He handles a wide range of international construction agreements, sales and purchase agreements, dispute resolution, and pullout of business. With the experience of r both in headquarters in Japan and subsidiaries overseas, he can work with client with comprehending the business needs and the decision-making process of the clients.
Working for about 12 years in a major Japanese plant and engineering company, he has experience in numerous overseas plant construction projects, mainly involving negotiating a plant construction agreement (EPC Agreement) in South-East Asia. During a three-year secondment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he negotiated investment arbitration treaties (investment agreements). In 2018, he studied at the University of Pennsylvania Law School (LLM), USA, then spent the next year working at the US headquarter of a major Japanese construction company before working for the legal department of a major general trading company (so called “sôgô shôsha”). In January 2023, Yusuke joined One Asia Lawyers and is now working for general cross-border matters with a focus on Indonesia and Malaysia.
