Profile and Expertise
Clarence Chua Min Shieh was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in November 2015. He has over 6 years of legal experience in a wide range of field and roles. He is also a former scholar under the Ministry of Education Sports and Technology of Japan under its the Young Leaders Program so that he is very fluent in Japanese.
Prior to joining One Asia Lawyers, he has worked as a Malaysian lawyer, in-house in a Malaysian public listed conglomerate, and a compliance officer in the Malaysian branch of a Japanese bank. He has extensive experience in contract drafting and advisory, company law, data protection, property development, defamation and negligence, to name a few in Malaysia.

1. Represented a Malaysian airline in a defamation suit
2. Advised and assisted a Korean household appliance company on possible amendments to the standards of the Energy Commission of Malaysia
3. Assisted and appeared in cases in all tiers of Courts of Malaysia
4. Prepared and advice the standardization of the regional service level agreement of a Japanese bank based in Malaysia
5. Provided advise on various forms of contracts such as supply and purchase agreements, service level agreements, data protection consent forms, non-disclosure agreements and subcontracting and agency agreements.
6. Advised a Japanese telecommunications company on their contract novation exercise in Malaysia and Singapore.
7. Advised a Japanese manufacturing company on confidentiality and contractual obligations with a potential American-based business partner.Thesis titled “Users of Data or Used by Data: A comparative analysis on the obligations against users of data under the European Union’ s General Data Protection Regulations and the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act” as part of the Master thesis requirement.
