Charana Kanankegamage is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and is the founder of Clementi Legal. He holds an Honours degree in Law (LL.B.) from the University of London, United Kingdom, and a Master of Science (MSc.) in Security and Strategic Studies from Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
Charana was called to the Sri Lankan Bar in July 2012. Between 2012 and 2017, he was an Associate at the Corporate Law Office of the Sri Lankan firm F.J.& G. De Saram, Attorneys-at-Law. He gained experience in advising Sri Lankan and international clients in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including in key practice areas as Investment, Mergers & Acquisitions, Infrastructure, Employment & Immigration. From 2017 to 2023, he reverted to private practice in Sri Lanka.
He has had the opportunity to participate in training programs hosted by the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG), Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and Rule of Law and the Hague Academy of International Law.
Charana is a life member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and the Colombo Law Society.
